Vivian & Alrick | Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Today we get to share some of our favourites from our good friends Vivian and Alrick’s wedding day! We covered some good ground starting in Richmond for Vivian’s getting ready photos at her parents’ and with Alrick and his bro at the Sheraton downtown. With a Chinese-style wedding start, the boys headed down to Richmond for a bit of door games and a tea ceremony. Family and some group photos were in order at Garry Point in Steveston and then we were off to the Brock House Restaurant in Vancouver for more photos at the nearby beach and of course a beautiful outdoor ceremony and a Coco Chanel-inspired theme wedding planned and executed by Lele Pantoja Chan of Le Soirees Weddings and Events. The handsome couple wanted a beautiful and fun wedding. They got an amazingly beautiful and super fun wedding! Deejaying by DJ Wax of Fusion DJ, Photobooth Fun from Butter Photobooth, and awesome buffet at the Brock House… Fantastic! Congratulations to Vivian and Alrick! Here’s to many happy years to come!

Kelly & Gabriel | Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Real happy to feature Kelly and Gabriel’s wedding today! The day started with the wedding party getting ready at Cecil Green at UBC. A beautiful ceremony followed shortly under a very, very hot sun that afternoon! Always good to see marriage commissioner Kelly Ip! Probably one of the busiest commissioners in Vancouver! After the ceremony, we had the wedding party photo shoot around UBC before heading over to the Continental Restaurant for a large 500-guest dinner reception! Lots of fun with the games and with 500 guests, how could the garter and bouquet toss not be exciting right?! Congratulations to Kelly and Gabriel!

Liza & Matt | Westwood Plateau | Wedding Photographer Butter Studios

Really excited to share this wedding that we photographed late last year! The feature couple for today is Liza & Matt! This super cool couple were just too much fun to work with. Their wedding party was also ready to get their poses on right from the morning onwards! Liza and Matt made sure that all of their guests enjoyed the whole day and the reception was just one awesome party! Gina started off with the gorgeous bride at the Grand Villa Delta Hotel in Burnaby in the morning, while I was with Matt and the guys downtown at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. We roamed around downtown and got some guy-approved action shots!

We all met at the Vancouver Convention Centre where Liza and Matt had their first look out by the water. Always a sweet moment but just seeing the delight in their eyes when they first saw each other was really touching and one of the bonuses for us as wedding photogs!

After the convention centre, we made our way to the Olympic Village for more group and wedding party photos. And then it was off to the always awesome Westwood Plateau for the ceremony, some family photos, more photos with the bride and groom, and then one party of a reception!

From the Butter Photobooth to the hilarious Jib-Jab videos to the dancing… it was just a really fun day. Thank you Liza and Matt for letting us be a part of your wonderful day and a big congratulations to you two!

Elaine & Yadi E-Session | Vancouver Wedding Photographer

Rewinding back a couple of months to 2011 here for Elaine and Yadi’s engagement photo shoot session! It was the perfect sunny day in Vancouver at Queen Elizabeth Park. Always a ton of spots for us to capture some great moments between the lovely couple! E-session are always so much fun as we don’t have the busy-ness of a wedding buzzing around. It’s really about the connection between two people in love and a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better before the big day! Congratulations to Elaine and Yadi!

Dene & Brad’s Wedding | Vancouver Photographer Butter Studios

Happy 2012 Buttermaniacs! We hope you and your families had a wonderful holiday season and Merry Christmas! It’s January and it’s back to work for most of us eh? Today we’re featuring a totally awesome couple on their amazing wedding day – Dene and Brad! It’s always a wedding photographer’s treat when the wedding party is so much fun to work with! The day started off with getting ready at Dene and Brad’s lovely town home. The lovely bridesmaids all made their own hair accessories which just looked perfect for the wedding and of course the photos throughout the day! The ceremony was held at St. Andrew’s Wesley church in Vancouver then it was off to Granville Island for an uber-fun photo shoot with the wedding party. As you can see from the photos, the lovely couple are very detail oriented! Check out the photos of the Bridges Restaurant entrance decor! So much to capture on this day and it was definitely our honour and pleasure to be a part of it! A big congratulations to Dene and Brad! Here’s a big hurray for their wonderful day!

Jean & Romano | Vancouver Wedding Photographer

We still have a few months of weddings to share with all of you out there! As much as we’d love to share every single wedding that we have photographed in 2011… that’s just not going to be possible! But as always, we will share some of our favourites whether it’s large or private! Today’s feature wedding was a more private one with just the family of Jean and Romano’s! The pretty and lovely Jean is a former colleague of Gina’s so it was no question that Gina was excited to capture the intimate ceremony and celebration at the top of Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver at the Observatory Restaurant! The newlywed couple posed for some great photos under fantastic Summer sun at the top of the hill. Congratulations to Jean and Romano! Cheers to many happy years!

Connie & Kenny | Butter Studios Wedding Photography

Okay… blog break is over! Back to our feature weddings! Today we’re pleased to present you with… (drum roll)… Connie and Kenny’s big special day! Chinese weddings are always full of fun things happening all day so it’s no surprise that I tend to overkill these posts with tons of photos! The day started with door games and then a Chinese traditional tea ceremony at Connie’s parents’ home then it was off to the beautiful Hycroft manor for some photos and a tea ceremony with Kenny’s parents. And oh yeah, this was really cool… Kenny showed up for the door games on his Gixxer (Sport Motorbike for those of you unfamiliar with the nickname)! For the rest of the photos, Gina and the wedding party went to Iona Beach by the airport in Richmond, Richmond City Hall, and then it was off to Shiang Garden Seafood Restaurant for a big party of a reception! The wedding party entered into the ballroom to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem, BUT… complete with costumes! Yes… robot box head was there! Shout out to Desy from RF Productions who captured the video for the day! Do they look familiar? Maybe that’s because you’ve seen their photo booth photos (HERE) or their engagement photo shoot (HERE) in a previous blog post!

Christine & David | Wedding Photography | Richmond

Chinese weddings are always lots of fun right from the get go! With door games in the morning to tea ceremonies to reception games, it’s a day full of chuckles and fun! Christine and David’s wedding was just that and more! The morning started with door games and a tea ceremony at Christine’s house, then it was off to David’s house for the second portion of the tea ceremony. A lovely ceremony at the Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park, followed by the wedding party photo shoot at Richmond City Hall and a finally a wonderful reception at Jade Seafood Restaurant in Richmond to close off the perfect day! Christine kept the guests wowed with her 4 wardrobe changes and boy did she look beautiful in each dress! Congratulations Christine and David!

Deana & Andrew | Capilano Golf Club | Wedding

I’m really happy to feature Deana and Andrew’s lovely wedding on our le blog today! Gina and I had the opportunity and the honour to shoot this lovely couple’s big day. The ceremony was amazing at the UBC Rose Garden. Quite warm and bright with the sun shining overhead throughout the entire day, but of course… it’s better than rain right?! Due to it being a Festival of Lights fireworks night, we had to work fast at the Olympic Village but we got our shots! The evening ended at the always-awesome Capilano Golf Course in West Vancouver. Shout out to fellow photog: Roger Hur who was part of the slick groomsmen. Congratulations to Deana and Andrew!

Rita & Kevin | Wedding | Westwood Plateau

Taking a slight break from the Christmas parties before we’re back at it tomorrow! I thought it was suitable to feature a Westwood Plateau wedding from this past Summer seeing as we’ll be there tomorrow for the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Annual X’mas Luncheon! Today’s feature wedding is Rita and Kevin’s big day at the Plateau! Definitely a lovely couple and together with the wedding party, we went to the Marine Building and the Vancouver Convention Centre downtown for the main part of the photoshoot. And of course, how we could we not grab some shots at Westwood before the ceremony and reception! Congratulations to Kevin and Rita! Cheers to many happy years!

Winnie & Pierson | Wedding Photography

We’re so happy that we can take the opportunity to share this amazing wedding that we photographed of our good friends Winnie and Pierson this past Summer! Right from the getting ready part of the day to the final song at the reception… the entire day was just awesome! The ceremony took place at the Canadian Memorial Church where we were able to also get some lovely photos outside in front of the beautiful doors and archways. From there we had a totally un-rushed photoshoot with the wedding party in Steveston and at the Olympic Village. From there we moved on to Shiang Garden Restaurant in Richmond for a wonderful reception with lots of games, photoboothing and dancing! Oh and of course a delicious 12-course Chinese banquet! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lam! Here’s to all the many happy years ahead!

Part II of July 9! While Gina was having a blast with Gabriella and Sammy over at the Sutton, Chris was having just as much fun with Wendy and Seng at their beautiful Stanley Park Pavilion Ceremony and super fun reception at the Sun Sui Wah restaurant in Vancouver. Famous Chinese restaurant I mean… The wedding party was just so cool throughout the day and as a photographer I couldn’t have asked for a more lovely couple. If you meet them you’d know exactly what I mean! The reception was definitely a party and the Butter Photobooth team was also on site for this one! Christy & Scott | Vancouver Wedding

Today we’re pleased to feature Christy and Scott’s wedding! Having been capturing awesome weddings for the past few years, we have seen our share of venues. But, it’s not often we get to photograph a ceremony and reception on a yacht! Christy and Scott’s wedding was on the Vancouver Yacht 1. We launched off the dock at Granville Island for a 4 hour cruise. Prior to hopping on the boat, we did get a chance to go out for a photo shoot around Granville Island (always a hot spot, as most local wedding photographers would agree!). The sun was definitely out and shining bright on that day! Christy also owns a bridal boutique company called Parisian Lady Designs based in Maple Ridge, BC. Her work is beautiful… just like she is! In fact… just check out her gorgeous dress she designed herself. Congratulations Christy and Scott! Double cheers and many happy years!
